Whose are we: Why does it matter?
Life brings about change through the circumstances God allows in our lives. He is forever shaping who we are and clarifying just what our purpose is. One thing I've learned is to expect the unexpected. Honestly life would get pretty boring if we did the same thing day in and day out. As men I think if we are honest with ourselves we enjoy change and challenges. Now the size of the challenge or change we look forward to is the variable. My goal here is to share the curve balls life has tossed my way and how God has equipped me over time to handle them and not get tied up by and high and tight fast ball. It's not if they'll come, its when.That's what I have to offer you. Experiences, failures, victories and what I've learned along the way. I've gathered much insight in dealing with a variety of issues. Do I have all the answers? No, however I can confidently say that I have insight that can be of value to you as a man, husband, father and the spiritual leader of your home.
As of today, April 30th, 2012, I've begun the daunting task of writing a book. It's seems surreal to be adding to my resume': Author, or at least perspective author. We've all got a story to tell. So what makes the story I have to tell special? I'm not so sure it's "special" as it needs to be told. It needs to be told not because I'm someone special. To the contrary I consider myself pretty average by human standards.
The sub-title to this website is "Speaking Truth to Men". This book will dig deeply into my personal life. The deep dark scarey places I've taken myself. Many of those closest to me have no clue where I've gone and been. The process of peeling the onion has begun. My prayer and desire through this process to help men, and potentially women, find hope where they may see none. At least not now. If this project bears fruit it will be because of the amazing people God has placed in my life now and in the future. This will only succeed if God wills it and I'm obedient. I ask for your prayers as this moves forward.
The current working books title is at the top of this page. I will post updates relevant to progress and the process.
I don't want this to be a one sided conversation. You becoming part of the conversation via the blog, emails, Twitter and Facebook will be what makes this entire journey together the most it can be.
